Mystery Shopping Goal!

I am very aware of the electricity prices this year. They wet up over the winter. So I am have a goal for the summer. I am going to try and make enough money mystery shopping to cover all the electricity. I don't know about you but that is a lot of money for us. About $8 a day.

Now. I started mystery shopping last spring and did it for a few months. But I stopped. I got frustrated that I had to spend money to make money. (don't we all know that's true) But I realized that I can do some that I already spend money on and then re coop that plus the shopper fee. Like eating pizza. Yumm! We normally get a local pizza places pizza. But I see lots of shops for Pappa Johns. I like them and their fattening garlic butter sauce. But you can only get 1 pizza and it has to be one topping no ex cheese. First we don't need extra cheese and one pizza should be plenty. I could just make a salad to go with. So for that shop I get reimbursed plus my $5 shopper fee. For something I was going to do anyway!

Next I found shops that were practically nothing out of pocket. Like swimming pool place shops. You need to pretend that you have a problem with your pool. (they give you a list of things to say if you don't really or don't have a pool). First make a phone call to the store and then visit the store. You answer questions about how the place looked. How the employee looked and interacted with you. Then you need to by something for up to $1 (clearance toy or something at the counter). And you are done. You get your $1 back and a $8 shopper fee! Whooo that's my $8 for the day for my electricity.

If you want a invite to the one I use the most email me and I will send you one :D

Score!

I went to pick up my co-op produce basket. This week they had a new location that was really close to me. So that means a new buyer for the location. So I was looking forward to finding out what she was going to be buying. Ok. here is what I got for $15..

1 huge bag of salad.(more then enought for a weeks worth)
2-cucumbers
4- plumbs
4- oranges
6- GS apples
4- head of broccoli
6- bananas, still green :)
1- cantalope
10lb bag of potatoes
1lb strawberries
head of callifower
pint of cherry tomatoes

I also opted for the asian pack (7.00)
ginger root
4 head garlic
1 boc choy
1 asian type cabbage head
thing of mushrooms
bunch of leeks

Then I got a case of GS apples 40lbs for $12.00 . We are going to make some apple pie filling and can it for later.

But the score was being the last one to come and pick it up. The had leftovers. I got a whole case of broccoli, 4 more cucumbers, another bag of potatoes and some oranges. After spending 2 hours cutting and blanching the broccoli I now have 6 huge bags of frozen broccoli!

Quick stop!

Well who knew I post 3 times on one day. Just thought I would put down the quick stop of the day. The Sara Lee factory (who knew they also made bread for Kroger:D). They had a bunch of bagels marked down to .50c. They had the little pies too for .25c but at 430 calories each I passed even though they looked so good. Anyway here is the break down.

2- SL bagels, plain = $1.00
1- SL Delightful whole wheat= $.99
1- SL white classic sandwich bread, white for the kids= $.99
Total: $ 2.98+ tax

I want to say that there are a lot of choices for bread and it is all baked fresh everyday. They have the expensive kinds, shorter, fatter loves that are $3-4 each. They are also $.99ea too. But since we are trying to eat more healthy, AKA low cal. I went for the delightful. I left out one of the bagels and put one in the freezer for another day.

Free with coupons.

Nobody knows what is going on. I am awaiting a call to tell me when and where my CAT scan it going to be.

Outlet stores!

I used to go to an outlet bread store years ago. But it closed. I was driving and looked over to a Earthgrains bread disributer center and saw a sign in the window that said "buns". So on my way back I stoped in the parking lot to read the other signs. It was an outlet center for Sara Lee. I fond out some interesting things. To all you out there that thinks store brand is worse or not as good as name brand.....Sara Lee/ Earthgrains makes Fry's brand bagels english muffins and buns. Haha! Some of the prices were not as good as I would think but loves of bread and buns were an awesome price. Here are some of the things I saw...

SL mini bagels $1
sm SL buns (hotdog and hamburger) $.89
lg SL buns (premium including onion, seseme seed ect.) $1.09-1.29
loaf breads (SL, earthgrains, iron kids, Sun Maid Rasian bread ect. all kinds of stuff) $1.09-1.29

They did have cereal and generic stuff but not at very good prices. I got 1 sl mini bagels and 2 sl buns for dinner tonight.

Co-ops!

Went on Saturday early in the morning and got my produce from the co-op. I can't find my camera so there are not pictures....

9- apples
8- pears
2- english cucumbers
1- head of lettuce
5- bananas
4- artachokes
3lb grapes
3- yellow squash
1- cantalope
3- avacados
4- vine tomatoes
4- oranges

All for $15. My co-op was selling bison. Not sure what the value is but it was a bunch of different cuts that added up to 12 lb for $65. I have never had it before. But if the have sampler packs again I might try some. Cases of apples were $50 I think and organic breads were $2 a loaf. I don't think I would have a need for a whole case of apples. If my family ate a lot of applesauce I might but the kids don't eat it much. And I don't have a big freezer or I would make apple pies and pie filling. I can't wait until they offer organic honey and olive oil again.

Sorry, guys. I did not go shopping this Sunday. I got all I needed of the cereal onsale at Fry's this week. And the others were not all that interesting to me. I did manage to get another $25 gift card from Walgreens for another transfer.

I went to the doc today and got 2 new rx's for dd. So those are going to Safeway. They have a coupon on the back for $30 gift certificate with a new or transfered RX.

New Loreal mascara VS the Kiss Me mascara

About a year ago I got a little sample of Kiss Me Mascara that uses tube technology. It is wonderful. It goes on well and does not smudge or come off. It takes a little warm water and a little pressure to slide the tubes off your lashes. It makes your lashes very long and lush looking. I just bought the Loreal Paris Double Extend (beauty tubes technology) at CVS this week. It is on sale for $9.99 and $2.00 back in ECB. After using the Kiss Me I was very disappointed with the Loreal. I do like the idea of the nourishing end of the tube but it went on thick and goopy. The applicators on the Loreal are very bushy and do not extend out very far from the end that you hold. It was very awkward to use. You can see from the picture (sorry for the quality) how short it is. I think that I am going to stick to my Kiss Me mascara. Even though it is more then 2 times the price. It is worth it to me.

You can find it Here!

or if you don't mind the awkwardness you can get the less expensive version at CVS this week for $9.99 - $2.00 ECB= $7.99 (even better if you have a coupon).

I forgot to add that Kiss Me mascara is the best mascara I have ever had!

Do you want to try a Kiss Me mascara. I will give one away to someone that comments on this post. Please remember to leave your email, have your profile enabled or just leave a comment and email me your email addy ( mamma.liz@gmail.com). Drawing ends on Friday 10/24/08 at 6pm PST
